Splendour in Nottingham – the music event of 2008
Kate Nash, Paolo Nutini, The Charlatans, The Maccabees and Rufus Wainwright – they are just some of the top names signed up to Splendour in Nottingham – the City’s music event of 2008.
Over 10,000 festival goers are expected for this year’s Splendour at Wollaton Park on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July. It will be the first big gig at Wollaton Park for six years. As an extra treat for City residents, a discount rate of £15 per day, a saving of £10 against normal ticket prices, is being offered to all City residents with a Citycard, Concessionary Citycard or Citycard 360.
Splendour offers a varied, eclectic line up of live acts – a mixture of internationally acclaimed performers, national and local artists and will be an event that the whole family can enjoy. Set within the picturesque grounds of the stunning Elizabethan Wollaton Hall, a summer festival could not ask for a better venue.
Following on from the success of last year’s Live Music Weekend in the Old Market Square and building on this year’s City Pulse and Dot to Dot festival, Splendour is all set to cement Nottingham’s reputation as a UK capital for live music and entertainment.
Tickets go on sale from Friday 9th May. Citycard holders can buy tickets through the Royal Centre box office at the Royal Concert Hall in person, on presentation of their Citycard or Citycard 360.
